At the age of 18, I was a student in Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas. It was 1982, and one of my favorite Christian singers, Keith Green, had recently died in a tragic plane crash. One of my roommates gave me a brochure, written by Keith Green, called “Why You Should Go to the Mission Field”. Reluctantly, I read it. (I didn’t like the title.) Halfway through the brochure, I was hooked. I stopped and told the Lord, “I’ll be a missionary.” It was another six years before I reached the foreign mission field (the Philippines) for full-time service, and 25 years later, I’m still here, along with my wife of 23 years (Cris, a Filipina). read more » There are so many promises concerning the end time church and the power that will be released in the end time. Romans 15:21, “…To whom He was not announced, they shall see; and those who have not heard shall understand.” What a promise! We don’t have to fear that the word will not be understood in the nations. He promises us that those who have not heard will understand and those who have not had the word announced will see! I just got back from three full weeks in the 10/40 window. We ministered with the aid of interpreters in underground churches in various nations. The penalty for this could be 5 to 10 years in prison, if not worse, for both the minister and the interpreter. My whole life I was surrounded by great men of faith who paved the way for what I am seeing now. People like, Lester Sumrall, Kenneth Hagin, Oral Roberts, T.L. Osborne, John Osteen, Norvel Hayes and others had a profound impact on my life, and I had the privilege of meeting each of them. Where are these great men of God now? Are there emerging great leaders of faith who are paving the way for the final revival that will sweep the earth? Absolutely, THEY ARE THE UNSUNG HEROES of the Asian church! The Church in Asia is truly like the book of Acts, and I felt very unworthy of being their leader. Hundreds look to me as their pastor and I felt as an unworthy dog with the comforts of home that I get to return to after my couple of months a year there. However, I am seeing that the great men of God aforementioned were the ones who equipped my generation to empower the Asian Church to do what they need to do. Dr. Vickers, Dr. Harrison and the others whom I mentioned had an impact on my life, instilled in me the depth of the Word and the passion to get the job done. I actually have been equipped after 20 years of ministry to teach, train, mobilize and release these great Apostles to do the work of the ministry. In the secret Churches in Bhutan and other countries that I visited, some of the Pastors have only been saved for a year, yet they have raised up dozens of Churches already but have no teaching or training. We planted Bible Schools and gave basic training for ministry that will help bring a revival. Church, listen; there are now some 7 billion people on the earth and by some estimations there are a Billion believers. That means that each believer just has to win six people to Christ and the whole world will be saved. The problem is that you need to reach about four and a half of those people in the 10/40 window. That means that you either have to go yourself or that you have to organize your church in a way that you will support those who go and get your six people. Some of you will lead people to Christ yourselves and others, you will win your six to Christ through partnering with people who are going to the tough places and reaching the unreached. The time is near and the kingdom of God has come. Here are some promises to let us know that the great commission is happening and there is nothing that the devil can do about it: I want to encourage you today. The greatest revival that the world has ever seen is happening right now. Tens of thousands are coming to Christ in Asia every day. America can get in on this revival. If we get behind the Asian church and do something about connecting to it, we will see God bless our land too! I saw it with my own eyes. Revival is here. God is going to win and he will take more than he leaves! Romans 11:22, “Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off.” When I was only five years old I began to have dreams and visions of Christ. He would tell me to go to the world with the gospel. Just a short time after, He allowed me to have visions of hell and hear the screams of torment of the people there. I was a boy, still in the single digits of age, and I believed that God so wants us to save people from the coming wrath. read more » We shouldn’t have to call a church a “world missions church”. The definition of the word Church should imply that they are reaching their local communities, their extended communities and the remotest parts of the earth. However, many churches haven’t caught the heartbeat of God concerning world missions. read more » Philippians 4:19, “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” If I were to ask you or any good group of Charismatic believers if they believe that this verse is for them, almost everyone would shout: “YES! This verse is for me.” We have been taught that God wants us blessed. We have been taught to claim the Word of God for ourselves. We have been taught to put ourselves in the Word. read more »

A Promise for the End Time Church

- Matthew 24:14, “This gospel of the Kingdom SHALL BE PREACHED into all the world…”
- Psalm 2:8, “Ask me and I will give you the nations for your inheritance and the ends of the earth for your possession.”
- Revelations, “People too many to number…out of every tribe, nation, people and tongue…”
- Other verses promise that although it is like a mustard tree that is the smallest tree in the garden, it will be the largest tree in the forest! Jesus also said, “Lift up your eyes, the fields are already white for the harvest!!!”

One Response to Missions Mobilization
Great word Jerry! I agree with you. Regarding short term trips, in my experience, sometimes larger churches have most of their trip mapped out in a missionaries field, and expect the missionary to fill the church’s need rather than the other way around. They’ve planned, made the agenda, and in particular have organized a schedule that mostly suits their own needs. It works best when there is a planned trip with much flexibility by the travelers that ties directly to the missionary’s goals and vision. The traveling missions team then comes and provides lots of manpower. That’s one way they are a blessing instead of a mess. Jeff Rutland
